Thailand’s government has ordered 1,000 specialist RFID-based tags from Active Tagging to help monitor people with suspected swine flu currently being held in quarantine areas in the country.
The Xtag will be fitted to people’s ankles and will relay a signal should someone wander from a predefined safe spot.

Active Tagging has won a major contract in the Kuwait, Bahrain and Dubai to install its Xtag baby security system into 200 public hospitals.
The first phase of the multi-million pound contract is for 20 maternity departments, and completion of the project will ensure that new-born babies are kept in a safe and secure environment.
